How to play Loading Ramp
- Choose a mission and read its two givens. Find the marked angle on the ramp.
- Name the sides relative to that angle: opposite, adjacent, and hypotenuse.
- Choose the relation that links the givens with the unknown side, calculate it, and type it in metres.
- Press Play. The winch pulls the box up the ramp; it reaches the platform only if your side is right.
Sine, cosine, and tangent are ratios of sides
In a right triangle, the angle θ fixes the shape, so the ratios between its sides are fixed too: sin θ = opposite ÷ hypotenuse, cos θ = adjacent ÷ hypotenuse, and tan θ = opposite ÷ adjacent. Many people remember them as SOH-CAH-TOA. When no angle is known, Pythagoras links the three sides: hypotenuse² = opposite² + adjacent².
A focused learning model
The ramp is a straight, rigid plank whose foot stays fixed. The winch pulls the box at a constant 0.5 m/s, so its velocity always points along the ramp, with components v · cos θ and v · sin θ. The box size is ignored when checking the fit. Playback runs 2 times faster than real time.
